Sometimes we get calls from customers who tell us their car key has stopped working. This week a customer contacted us who was having trouble with their Ford Ranger Smart Key only working intermittently. We scheduled in to be at their house in Golden Bay the next day to take a look at the Ranger key. On inspection it looked likely the key had come into contact with water, damaging the transponder chip and stopping it communicating with the car’s immobiliser system. We talked with the customer about auto keys and water being a bad mix! We programmed a new Ford Ranger key there and then for the customer. Another happy customer!
