JOB DESCRIPTION Missing Transponder Chip in Toyota Aurion Key
Car keys are much more complicated than they used to be. Most car keys today contain micro computer chips, called a transponder chip, that communicates with the vehicle’s immobiliser system. In some vehicles, the chip not only communicates to start the car but also retains information about the radio settings and seat position of that key owner.
At Car Key Rescue we know how important that transponder chip is and so we treat car keys carefully – we are often surprised to see and hear from customers that their car keys are left in the sun all day, get put through the wash or even given to children to play with! Car keys definitely don’t like water and they don’t like to be dropped.
We always recommend having a safe place at home to store your car keys and this can also help with always knowing where to find them – no one likes losing their car keys!
This week we were called out to a customer in Lathlain who was wanting a replacement car key for their Toyota Aurion. Their Toyota key had stopped communicating with the car and as it turned out, the transponder chip within the key had somehow fallen out. We talked with the customer about the importance of the transponder chip and gave them some tips for ensuring this new key would last a long time. We programmed in the new smart key to the Toyota Aurion in under an hour and we were on our way. Check out our reviews to hear from other happy customers!
